A few times a week, restaurant ‘Eat,’ as it is called, serves “silent dinner.” Diners are asked not to speak during their dinner. Why did they start such a service? Eat’s managing chef, Nicholas Nauman says the quiet time is essential to savor the meal; diners can focus on the various tastes and textures.
A four-course meal lasts about 90 minutes and will cost you $40 (USD). Nauman says they have been very popular and he will continue to offer the service as long as there is demand.
Which do prefer? Do you want to enjoy talking during your meal or to savor every bite in silence?
