viii. 結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句

1. so that, so ... that都可以引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句。

He left for the station very early so that he caught the train to Shanghai.

他動(dòng)身去火車站很早，于是趕上了去上海的火車。

The weather was so hot that we had to put off the sports meeting.

天氣如此的熱，我們只好推遲了運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)。

2. so +形容詞/副詞+ that從句

The wind was so strong that we could hardly move forward.

風(fēng)如此大，以至于我們幾乎不能前行。

3. so +形容詞+ a/an +名詞+ that從句

It was so hot a day that no one would like to go out and play.

天那么熱以至于沒(méi)有人想出去玩。

4. such + a/an +(形容詞)+名詞+ that從句

I gave him such a shock that his face turned white.

我把他嚇了一跳，他的臉都變白了。

5. such +形容詞+名詞 (復(fù)數(shù)/不可數(shù))+ that從句

They are such difficult problems that no one in our class can work them out.

它們是如此難的問(wèn)題以至于我們班里沒(méi)有人能夠算出來(lái)。

6. such + a/an +形容詞+名詞+ that從句= so +形容詞+ a/an +名詞+ that從句

It was such a hot day that no one would like to go out and play.

it was so hot a day that no one would like to go out and play.

天如此的熱以至于沒(méi)有人想出去玩。

7. so + many/much/few/little（少）+名詞+ that從句

He made so many mistakes in the exam that his teacher was very angry.

他考試中犯了那么多錯(cuò)誤，老師都生氣了。

8. “so +形容詞/副詞”放在句首時(shí)，要引起主句的部分倒裝。

So difficult were the maths problems in yesterday's exam that almost no one in our class worked them out all correctly.

昨天的數(shù)學(xué)考試題那么難，我們班幾乎沒(méi)有一個(gè)學(xué)生全做出來(lái)。

9. “such+(a/an)+形容詞+名詞”放句首時(shí)，要引起主句的部分倒裝。

Such rapid progress did he made that he soon began to write articles in English.

他取得這樣快的進(jìn)步，所以他不久就開(kāi)始用英文寫(xiě)稿了。

10. so和that都可以單獨(dú)用來(lái)引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句。

That animal has so small a mouth (that) it can hardly eat anything.

這個(gè)動(dòng)物嘴很小，以至于幾乎不能吃食。

I'm not a fool that you shouldn't expect me to be cheated by you from time to time.

我不是傻瓜，所以你不應(yīng)當(dāng)指望我再三受你的騙。

11. with the result that引導(dǎo)從句。

He had never worked hard at his lessons with the result that he couldn't pass the college entrance examination last year.

他從來(lái)不在功課上下功夫結(jié)果去年沒(méi)有通過(guò)高考。
