聊一聊蘋(píng)果發(fā)布會(huì)中的英文

剛剛看完了蘋(píng)果發(fā)布會(huì)的回放，稍作整理，和大家一起從中學(xué)點(diǎn)英文。如果你還沒(méi)有看的話，可以去官方網(wǎng)站看一看，注意一下我在本文中提到的地方，順便學(xué)點(diǎn)英文。

1. 在發(fā)布會(huì)開(kāi)始前，蘋(píng)果CEO庫(kù)克向受到颶風(fēng)影響的人致辭，他說(shuō)：

Our hearts go out to all of the people whose lives have been disrupted by Hurrican Irma and Hurricane Harvey. You are in our thoughts. We send you our strength. You are in our prayers.

our hearts go out to的意思是“深感同情”;“you are in our thoughts/prayers”表示我(們)會(huì)為你祈禱，我們與你同在。這兩句話都是用來(lái)安慰別人。例如：You are in our thoughts and prayers. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

2. 形容詞

發(fā)布會(huì)中出現(xiàn)了許多形容產(chǎn)品的詞，有些詞會(huì)反復(fù)使用，例如incredible至少就出現(xiàn)了10次以上。類似的詞發(fā)布會(huì)中還用到了：

amazing, magical, extrodinary, powerful, wonderful, phenomenal, creative, gorgeous, state of the art, cool, intelligent, capable, awesome, innovative, intuitive...

intuitive在發(fā)布會(huì)中至少出現(xiàn)了3次，用它形容產(chǎn)品是想強(qiáng)調(diào)“容易上手”，不用看說(shuō)明書(shū)就會(huì)用。在介紹iPhone X的時(shí)候演講者說(shuō)的一段話可以解釋intuitive的意思：

It's that simple, that easy. It's incredibly smooth. Once you do it for the first time, you will know there has never been a better way.

3. 熟詞生義

整個(gè)發(fā)布會(huì)聽(tīng)下來(lái)，除了一些專用名詞外并沒(méi)有太大困難。我特別注意到finish這個(gè)詞在發(fā)布會(huì)中多次出現(xiàn)，我沒(méi)有聽(tīng)懂，例如：

We have a beautiful new gold alumnium finish along with silver and space gray.

Last year, we introduced a white ceramic watch. This year we are adding a ceranuc watch in a gorgeous gray finish.

It comes in silver, space gray, and a beautiful new gold finish.

我意識(shí)到這可能是一個(gè)熟詞生義的現(xiàn)象，查了下字典，發(fā)現(xiàn)它可以表示“拋光”-- the appearance of a surface, for example whether it is smooth or rough。

4. 學(xué)個(gè)萌表達(dá)

Hey, Tim I don't know what protocol is, but I would like to call dibs on fox for my favorite emoji.

聽(tīng)到call dibs on這個(gè)表達(dá)，我想到了3年前寫(xiě)的學(xué)習(xí)筆記。你看，學(xué)英語(yǔ)無(wú)非就是日積月累。在沒(méi)有確定屬于誰(shuí)的情況下，誰(shuí)先喊dibs就是誰(shuí)的了，這個(gè)dibs可以理解為是rights, claims。
