A: Really? Is she a Harvard student too?

C: How is life at Harvard?

A: Not bad. But at first it’s hard for me to adjust to it.
 
還行，只是剛開(kāi)始時(shí)對(duì)我來(lái)說(shuō)有點(diǎn)難適應(yīng)。
 
C: That’s must hard for you.
 
那對(duì)你來(lái)說(shuō)一定很難。
 
A: Fortunately, I got a lot of help from the Chinese students' association at Harvard.
 
幸好，在哈佛的中國(guó)學(xué)生社團(tuán)給予了我很多幫助。
 
C: Sounds like a fellow townsmen，club back in China.
 
聽(tīng)起來(lái)就像是在中國(guó)的同鄉(xiāng)俱樂(lè)部。
 
A: In America, all Chinese are fellow “townsmen”.
 
在美國(guó)，所有的中國(guó)人都是老鄉(xiāng)。
 
C: Can I join it if I go to Harvard in the future?

A:You’ll be welcome because you can give us a big hand once you join us.

C: What’s the association’s name exactly? I’d like to look it up from the internet.
 
社團(tuán)確切的名字是什么？我想在網(wǎng)上査找一下。
 
A: Harvard-Radcliffe Chinese Students Association.
 
哈佛大學(xué)中華學(xué)會(huì)。
 
C: How does it help Chinese students?
 
它是如何幫助中國(guó)學(xué)生的呢？
 
A: The biggest help offered by it is to make us feel at home, I would say. It hosts nearly 80 events each year, celebrating our traditional festivals, and keeping us aware of Chinese culture.
 
A:它最大的幫助是讓我們感覺(jué)在家里一樣?？傊磕昙s舉辦80次活動(dòng)，慶祝我們的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日，讓我們保持對(duì)中國(guó)文化的認(rèn)識(shí)。
 
C:It ought to be that way. It'll be very embarrassing if foreigners ask something about Chinese culture that we should not know at all.
 
它就應(yīng)該那樣做！如果外國(guó)人問(wèn)我們一些關(guān)于中國(guó)的文化知識(shí)我們卻什么都不知道，那樣會(huì)很尷尬的。
 
A: That’s why we founded such an association at Harvard College. Actually there’s another Chinese association at Harvard, but it’s for graduate Chinese students.
 
那就是為什么我們?cè)诠鸫髮W(xué)成立這樣一個(gè)社團(tuán)了。事實(shí)上，哈佛還有另外一個(gè)中國(guó)社團(tuán)，不過(guò)它是專為研究生和已經(jīng)畢業(yè)的中國(guó)學(xué)生設(shè)立的。
 
C: What’s that?
 
是什么？
 
A: It’s called Harvard Chinese Students and Scholars Association. Personally speaking, this one is more important.
 
它叫做"中國(guó)學(xué)生和學(xué)者聯(lián)合會(huì)”。就個(gè)人而言，它更重要。
 
C: I don’t understand.
 
我不明白。
 
A: You know, a lot of Chinese graduate students spend their undergrad years in China, so their thinking model is almost fixed.
 
你知道，很多中國(guó)學(xué)生沒(méi)畢業(yè)之前大都在中國(guó)，他們的思考模式已經(jīng)固定了。
 
C: It must be even harder for them to adjust to American culture and society,
 
對(duì)他們來(lái)說(shuō)，適應(yīng)美國(guó)的文化和社會(huì)必定更難。
 
A: Few of them can completely overcome the language and cultural barrier, though they generally have no difficulty in scientific communication.
 
他們很少能完全克服語(yǔ)言和文化的障礙，雖然他們一般在技術(shù)性的溝通上沒(méi)有困難。
 
C: So they are in need of help. HCSSA can safeguard their rights and interests while promoting Chinese culture. Am I right?
 
所以他們需要幫肋，HCSSA在宣揚(yáng)中國(guó)文化時(shí)能夠保障他們的權(quán)利和利益。我說(shuō)的對(duì)嗎？
 
A: Completely! You have the awareness we need. You must come to join our association when you're admitted by Harvard.
 
非常正確！你有我們所需要的意識(shí)。如果你被哈佛錄取了一定要來(lái)參加我們的社團(tuán)啊。
 
C: I’m flattered, but I’m glad I’ll be helpful.
