千萬(wàn)不要和鸚鵡說(shuō)話
Mrs. Johnson phoned the repairman because herdishwasher quit working.
約翰遜太太的洗碗機(jī)壞了,她打電話叫修理工來(lái)。
He couldn't accomodate her with an "afterhours"appointment and since she had to go to work, shetold him, "I'll leave the key under the mat. Fix thedishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I'll mail you a check.
他不能在下班以后來(lái),而約翰遜太太也要上班。于是,她對(duì)他說(shuō):“我會(huì)把鑰匙放在門墊下。你修好洗碗機(jī),把賬單留在餐桌上,我會(huì)把支票寄給你。”
"By the way, I have a large rottweiler inside named Killer; he won't bother you. I also have aparrot, and whatever you do, do not talk to the bird!"
“另外,我養(yǎng)了一只名叫‘殺手’的大獵犬,他不會(huì)騷擾你的。我還有一只鸚鵡,你做什么都好,就是不要和它說(shuō)話!”
Well, sure enough the dog, Killer, totally ignored the repairman, but the whole time he wasthere, the parrot cursed, yelled, screamed, and about did his nuts.
確實(shí),那只叫“殺手”的大狗完全不理會(huì)修理工。可是,他在那兒修理洗碗機(jī)時(shí),那只鸚鵡一刻不停地咒罵、高喊、尖叫,把他煩死了。
As he was ready to leave, he couldn't resist saying, "You stupid bird, why don't you shutup!"
修理工要走時(shí),終于忍不住說(shuō)道:“你這只笨鳥,閉上你的鳥嘴!”
To which the bird replied, "Killer, get him!!!"
對(duì)此,鸚鵡說(shuō)道:“殺手,上!!!”
