舌尖上的美國(21):抱怨篇(上)

　　In our daily life,it always have something that can makes you unhappy,maybe we will make acomplaint at that time.It's a good idea to be as polite as possible even when complaining aboutsomething.生活中隨時可能會出現(xiàn)不順心的事情，偶爾抱怨一下也是無妨的，不過抱怨的時候最好還是顯得有素質(zhì)一點(diǎn)比較好，不要出現(xiàn)污言穢語。
　　making a complaint提出抱怨
　　1.Their new CD sucks.他們新出的唱片可惡心了.
　　Suck這個字在美國用的很多,它就是指很爛,很差的意思. Suck是一個動詞,所以在使用上跟爛這個形容詞是不太一樣的,例如你可以說, That traffic here really sucks!就是說這里的交通糟透了的意思. 有時也聽得到人家用suck的形容詞sucky.
　　Suck這個字的原意是指用嘴巴吸的意思,所以有人就設(shè)計了這么一個吸果凍的比賽. 規(guī)則很簡單,就是不能用手,只能用嘴巴把果凍吸光. 所以比賽一開始,只聽到觀眾大喊, Hey, you suck!表面上聽來是說,你快點(diǎn)吸的意思,事實(shí)上則是暗地里罵人爛的意思。
　　2.I am sick and tired of doing homework. 我對做作業(yè)感到厭煩.
　　Sick and tired of something可以視之為一個片語,所以并沒有sick (生病)的意思在里面!例如販賣機(jī)老是吃錢,你也可以說I am sick and tired of this vending machine.還有一句話也很有趣, I am so sick andtired of being sick and tired. 就是說你對于老是感到厭煩已經(jīng)感到十分厭煩了,我想這是很多都市人共同的心聲吧.
　　3.I am terrible/horrible.我很糟糕.
　　這句并不是說我很可怕或恐怖的意思. terrible翻成中文的意思是糟糕.有時他們也會用terrible來形容一個教授,He is so terrible,就是說這個老師教的很爛,而不是說他很會嚇人. 要是用terrible來形容一樣?xùn)|西,則表示該樣?xùn)|西很糟糕,例如形容食物,如The food is terrible,說的當(dāng)然就是食物很難吃了
　　Horrible跟terrible的意思可說是一模一樣,兩者可以互換使用,例如, The coffee is horrible. 或是Ourprofessor is horrible.
　　下面在介紹幾句常用的用于提出抱怨的句子：
　　1. i’m afraid i have a complaint to make.恐怕我要提點(diǎn)意見.
　　2. i’m sorry to say this，but there seems to be a mistake.對不起，這兒好像有個錯.
　　3. do you have to act like that?你非得那么做嗎?
　　4. would you mind not doing it?你能不能別那么做?
　　5. i do wish you wouldn’t do that.我希望你別那么做.
　　6. please don’t do it without asking.未經(jīng)允許請不要那么做.
　　7. can’t you do something about it?你就不能想點(diǎn)辦法嗎?
　　8. i hate to bring this up，but this is a nonsmoking zone.對不起提醒一下，這兒是禁煙區(qū).
　　9. would you please try to keep quiet at this hour?這么晚了，你能不能盡量保持安靜.
