第十九章 定語(yǔ) 定語(yǔ)從句（1）

　　1 .定語(yǔ)從句一般由關(guān)系代詞(a )或關(guān)系副詞(b )引起：

　　(諺)Laura was a woman whom she knew .勞拉是她認(rèn)識(shí)的一個(gè)女子。

　　It was an island whose name I have forgotten . 它是一座小島，它的名字我忘了。

　　There is a road which goes through the island . 有一條公路貫穿這個(gè)島。

　　He is the man that I Served .這就是我接待的那個(gè)人。

　　b . must find some place where I can sleep tonight . 我必須找到一個(gè)我獎(jiǎng)晚能睡覺(jué)的地方。

　　There were many days when we ate only one meal . 有好多天我們一天只吃一頓飯。

　　The reason why I became a teacher is that I like children . 我當(dāng)老師的原因是我喜歡孩子。

　　2 .在很多情況「(特別是它在從句中作賓語(yǔ)時(shí))，關(guān)系代詞常被省略：

　　You are just the sort of person we need .你正是我們需的那種人。

　　This is the brand we like .這是我們喜歡的牌子。

　　Here are Some jobs we could apply for.這兒有一些我們能申請(qǐng)的工作。

　　Come and see the new shirt I bought.來(lái)瞧我買的一件新襯衫。

　　I'm sorry , there is nothing we could do.抱歉，我們沒(méi)有什么辦法。

　　Who came? Anyone I know ?誰(shuí)來(lái)了?是我認(rèn)識(shí)的人嗎?

　　All you have to do is send a painting to them.你只需寄張畫(huà)去就行了。

　　This is the hotel we stayed in .這就是我們住的那家旅館。

　　有時(shí)，在個(gè)別名詞后，可跟一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句：

　　You mean there is a chance I'll get the job ? 你的意思是我還有機(jī)會(huì)得到這份工作?

　　Come to see us next time you come to town. 下次進(jìn)城時(shí)來(lái)看看我們。

　　The moment he said it , she regretted it.她剛一說(shuō)就后悔了。

　　That's the reason I did it .這就是我這樣的做的原因。

　　That's the way , I look at it .這是我對(duì)這事的看法。
