Fighting acne is rarely simple. But many experts believe that face mapping could be the key, helping you to figure out some of the triggers or causes based on where the breakouts are occurring on your face (via Teen Vogue). And if you find that you only ever seem to get acne on your forehead, there's probably a reason for it.

"Your forehead is linked to your digestive system," Lindsey Blondin, lead esthetician at George the Salon Chicago revealed to Teen Vogue. "Reducing the amount of fat in your diet and stepping up your water intake could help." We're told time and time again that drinking more water will help with skin problems, and this is particularly relevant if your skin problems occur on your forehead — it's certainly an easy fix if it works.

Put simply, "Acne on the forehead shares its pathogenesis with facial acne, namely hormones, heredity, and environment," Dr. Craig Kraffert, a board-certified dermatologist and President of Amarte Skincare, told Byrdie. Basically, if you have oily skin, you're going to be more prone to forehead acne. Adapt your skincare regime according to your skin type and learn to manage excess oil to avoid future zits.
